Frequently Asked Questions
Our parking lot and some of the walkways near the animals are gravel and can be difficult for some non motorized mobility devices. However, we are happy to offer a ride in our all terrain utility car (similar to a golf cart) to help ensure everyone has the chance to experience up close connection with our animals. If you have specific or more detailed questions about this please contact us prior to your visit at info@angelsacres.org.
Yes, we do have portable restrooms located near the entrance and near our gift shop. We also have a hand washing station located near the main barn/Goat Town.
We do offer snacks and treats at our concessions stand for our visitors (proceeds go directly towards helping our animals). You may also bring your own food - we understand some people have special dietary needs and you are welcome to bring what you need. However, NEVER feed any outside food OR food purchased at concessions to the animals. People food can be very dangerous to them, so for their protection, only special treats purchased on site can be fed to the animals.
Animal Feedings: We do allow visitors to feed our animal residents ONLY special treats purchased on site. Outside or human food can be deadly to animals, so for their health and safety, please NEVER feed the animals your own food or treats brought from home.
Please know that while we take precautions to keep our visitors and animals safe, interacting with the animals directly is at your own personal risk and we are not liable for injuries or damages. If you are hesitant or nervous about feeding an animal, please feel free to ask one of our friendly volunteers for assistance and a demonstration to help you feel more at ease.
The animal residents at Angels Acres are VERY friendly because they receive a lot of love and attention here. However, always use caution when interacting with an animal and follow general guidelines such as letting them smell your hand first, keeping a calm demeanor, petting gently, and keeping a flat open hand when feeding any animals. They are very used to taking treats and typically do so gently, but there is always some risk of accidental injury when interacting with animals. Never ever feed a pig by hand, always toss their feed to them so they can eat it off the ground (pigs can't see your hands by their mouth and can accidentally bite).
Cost: Train rides are $2 per single ride.
When: The train generally runs every 30 minutes during our open hours and with the first ride being 30 minutes after we open, and the last ride being 30 minutes prior to close. Our normal visiting hours are Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm, and Sundays 12 pm - 4 pm.
Can any age or size child ride the train? Our new farm train is designed just for little ones who can comfortably fit in the seats. Some of the seats are different in size so it just depends on if the child fits safely. We do have one slightly larger car at the rear of the train, but again, it just depends on if the child fits comfortably and safely. We appreciate your understanding as we keep this ride safe and fun for our smallest guests!
For safety purposes, we have a staff or volunteer ride in our utility vehicle behind the train - we can accomodate one parent and lap child to ride with us if you would like.
We have lots of visitors with developmental disabilities that enjoy spending time with our animals. In general, we ask all visitors to try and maintain a calm demeanor and be very gentle when petting and feeding the animals. The animals are very friendly in general. The goats and horses have soft fur that you can gently pet with an open hand; the pigs have harder bristles on their backs that can feel rough on your hands, but they also really love to be petted! Never ever feed a pig by hand, always toss their feed to them so they can eat it off the ground (pigs can't see your hands by their mouth and can accidentally bite). When feeding an animal it is important to keep a calm demeanor and use an open flat hand. The feeling of the animal eating can be very unusual for some people - it can be ticklish and a little bit wet. Our volunteers are always happy to help with feeding for anyone who is nervous. We also have a hand washing station to clean up after petting and feeding the animals.
Generally, the atmosphere at Angels Acres is pretty calm and relaxing - however, when we do have events going on, it can get crowded and the noise level can be quite a bit louder because we play music or have live bands playing, so you may want to bring headphones for your comfort.
Please call or email prior to bringing items to the farm. We do take donations depending on the items and what we are in need of but it is best to coordinate ahead of time to prevent any issues if it is something we cannot use here. We always appreciate cash or online donations if you would like to help in that way, or you can shop our Amazon wishlist here. If you have specific questions about this please contact us prior to your visit at info@angelsacres.org.
We accept cash and card payments, Apple Pay, and Google Pay for any and all purchases made onsite and for donations.
